The Role:

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team on one of our long standing contracts in Hammersmith. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining and optimising building services systems, ensuring the site’s mechanical and environmental conditions are kept to the highest standard at all times.

You’ll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), responding to reactive and breakdown issues, and supporting our clients with technical expertise and first-class customer service.

Working Hours:

07:00am – 16:00pm and 08:00-17:00pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on all mechanical plant and equipment in line with site schedules and asset lists.
  • Respond swiftly to faults and breakdowns, diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain and service HVAC systemshot and cold-water systems, and generators, using diagnostic tools and alarm data to fault-find and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate and timely completion of work records, reports, and documentation via the Computer-Based Maintenance System (Concept).
  • Support in ensuring that Risk Assessments are followed for all tasks, promoting safe systems of work.
  • Monitor and supervise subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with Platinum’s standards and site requirements.
  • Keep plant rooms clean, tidy, and secure at all times.
  • Work proactively with colleagues, clients, and suppliers to maintain a strong partnership approach and deliver service excellence.
  • Support compliance with all KPI/SLA targets as per the client contract.
  • Ensure that adequate spares and materials are available to carry out both planned and reactive tasks effectively.

About You

  • Qualified in a mechanical engineering discipline City & Guilds Level 2 or NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent).
  • Solid technical knowledge of building services systems and experience working within commercial or critical environments.
  • Basic electrical knowledge is desirable.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities with a customer-first approach.
